Heritage Chain  ·  Stories pinned for permanence

The story your grandchildren should know.

Capture an elder’s story before time does. Reviewed by hand. Pinned permanently to the open IPFS network with a Content Identifier you can verify forever. One story, $49.

What you are preserving.

A story told once, kept forever. Reviewed by editorial staff. Pinned with a public Content Identifier on the open IPFS network — verifiable today, in fifty years, and after we’re gone.

One story, fully held

No length cap. Photographs welcome. Audio narration optional — record the elder telling it themselves if you can. The story lives as a complete record, not a fragment.

Reviewed by a person

Every submission is read by editorial staff before publication. We do not auto-publish. The 24–48 hour review is the brand — care, not speed.

Provable permanence

Every published story is pinned to the InterPlanetary File System with a Content Identifier you can paste into any public IPFS gateway. The story survives independent of any single host.

You own the words

Copyright stays with you. The license you grant is for hosting only — never AI training, never advertising, never third-party syndication. Operating Principle 6 applies.

How it works.

Submit first, pay last. Compose the story with care — the Stripe checkout is the preservation seal at the end, not the price of admission.

Magic link to your email. No password. Your account holds your future stories under one record.

Tell the story

Type it, or paste it from your notes. Add a photograph if you have one. Attach an audio recording of the elder telling it, in their own voice, if the moment is right.

Editorial review

We read every story before publication. Light copy editing if needed; we contact you with questions if there are any. Typical turnaround: 24–48 hours.

Pin & publish

Once approved, the story is pinned to the open IPFS network. You receive the permanent Content Identifier by email. The story page goes live with the verifiable proof block at the bottom.

What permanence actually means.

Most platforms tell you that you own your content. We let you verify it.

⚔ The proof you can hold

Every published story is pinned to the InterPlanetary File System — a global peer-to-peer network of cooperating storage nodes. A Content Identifier (CID) is a cryptographic fingerprint that points to the exact bytes of your story. Paste the CID into dweb.link, ipfs.io, or any public gateway and the story renders — even if Heritage Chain is offline, even if our company no longer exists.

This is the bedrock guarantee. Not “trust us to keep it safe.” Verify, with cryptography, from any computer in the world.

Anticipated questions.

How is Heritage Chain different from Honored Ancestors?

Honored Ancestors memorializes the deceased — named figures placed in a curated public archive. Heritage Chain preserves a single story about a living person, told in their own voice or by someone who knows them. Different content, same infrastructure, same operating principles. The companies share a back-office; the brands are distinct.

What if my elder cannot write the story themselves?

You can write it on their behalf. Many of our submissions come from family historians capturing an elder’s story by interview. Add an audio attachment if you have it — recording the elder telling the story in their own voice is the most meaningful thing you can do.

Can I submit multiple stories?

Yes. Each story is preserved as a separate record with its own Content Identifier. Your account holds all your submissions in one place. Family historians documenting a generation of elders often submit several over time. Each story is $49.

What if my story is rejected during editorial review?

Editorial review is for quality and care, not gatekeeping. We may ask clarifying questions, suggest light copy edits, or in rare cases decline submissions that fall outside the platform’s purpose. If we decline before publication, you are refunded in full.

What happens if Heritage Chain goes away?

Your story’s IPFS Content Identifier continues resolving on the open IPFS gateway network whether we exist or not. You can re-host it independently. The bedrock guarantee is that the bytes are addressable from any computer in the world, not just from our servers.

Do you use my stories to train AI?

No. Never. Operating Principle 6 separates AI assistance from authorship: AI tools may help us with editorial work (transcription, copy editing), but submitted stories are never used as training data for any AI system, internal or external.
